Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are fundraising for Bipolar UK by taking part in Walking out of Darkness a mental health awareness walk which this year will be in Weston super Mare and will be a 10mile circuit at the end of June.
We are Claire and John, brother and sister, and our awesome friend Jen, and for this event we will be known as The DayWalkers.
I, Claire, have Bipolar and took part in Walking out of Darkness last year when we walked from Bath to Bristol. It was a wonderful day when we got to talk to people along the way about mental health, suicide awareness and my own experiences with all of these.
Living with a mental illness isn't a death sentence and with family, like John, and friends like Jen, I am able to get through the times where I feel suicidal but it isn't easy and there have been times where I have tried to take my life, but most importantly, my family have never given up on me. Being able to take part in events like this is very important to me, to keep talking about my experiences, to show people that the more we talk the better it is for everyone, the more we can reduce stigma around mental health as a whole.
Please donate as much or as little as you can, Bipolar UK are a wonderful charity who support people living with Bipolar actively within the UK.
