Ripple Effect is creating a wave of change in rural Africa. Our farmers learn, grow and sell more, releasing the potential in their land and lives. Then they pass the knowledge on, creating a wave of change across rural Africa.

Story

Past BCVA President and current BVA JVP, John Fishwick, is cycling 50 miles on an exercise bike to raise money for Send a Cow in celebration of BCVA’s 50th Anniversary.

John’s wife Nienke will be taking part in the ITU World Triathlon in Leeds on the 11th of June to also raise money for Send a Cow. This will consist of a 1500m swim, 36.2 km cycle and a 10km run.

Send a Cow is an International Development charity with a difference. They’ve been working with some of Africa’s poorest families for nearly 30 years, helping over 1.3 million people work their way out of extreme
poverty. They provide livestock, tools, seeds and training as part of a
programme giving people the hope and means to establish a future for
themselves, their families and their wider communities. They are currently delivering our programmes in seven African countries: Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya.
