Story
February 2016 was the saddest and toughest year my family and I had to face. Watching the rapid deterioration and passing of my mother Stella from a very rare brain disease (CJD Sporadic) was heart wrenching for all.
I had always wanted to run a marathon and in 2020 I was fortunate enough to be selected in the marathon ballot. Due to Covid I was forced to postpone the marathon run twice but this year it will be done :-)
Since mums passing, I am blessed with an amazing wife, son and beautiful daughter, also named Stella and their love and support have helped me massively throughout the highs and lows of marathon training and even ignored my continuous moaning, lol.
Every day, I think about mum and in completing this run I am to raise money to help the great people at UCL continue in their clinical trials and try to help others who are suffering from this awful life threatening disease.

Support us to find a cure for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). There is currently no cure but every day scientists and doctors are getting closer to finding a treatment. We aim to raise funds to support the use of an antibody drug developed for the treatment of patients with CJD. The first patient was treated at UCLH in October 2018.
