My 100th parkrun; and the Great North Run · 3 September 2016

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may know, I run socially for my health and general well-being.

During September 2016 I hope to complete an unusual milestone: my 100th parkrun. Parkrun is an international network of volunteer-organised Saturday morning 5K's, and the majority of my parkruns have been round the York Knavesmire over the last three years or so.

Also in September, I'm taking part in the Great North Run. I'm up against Mo Farah again - clearly he (or I) haven't learnt since our last meeting in 2014, when he finished 'a mere 40 minutes' ahead of me. This time I'll be taking a leaf from his book of running tactics, aiming to control the race from the back...

So these two events seem a good opportunity to contribute to a charity which has supported me - and which I have been a member of  - for over thirty years. Can you help me do so? It will be wonderful to know it's not just me urging myself along as I run.

You're probably aware that donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.

Thank you.
