Story

Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I can't overstate how unwilling I would be to voluntarily lose my beard. I'm as attached to my beard as it is to me. Many have never known me without a beard. Except for photos of my youth, my children have never seen me without a beard. My youngest son is particularly fond of it and would be devastated to see it go. Over the past couple of years I have steadfastly refused, despite pleading from my wife, to even trim it. It is undoubtedly a source of admiration and amusement, though not necessarily in equal measure.

The only thing that will change my mind is if I can raise at least £500 for the invaluable work of DMRT before Slioch Horseshoe Hill Race on 21st May 2016. In doing so I am mindful of a respected friend of the hill running and mountain rescue communities who loved the hills and had a great sense of fun. If, with your help, I achieve this amount, I will appear at the race clean shaven to present the prize for Best Beard.
