We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

John and Mark, both Porters at Churchill College, Cambridge are doing two sponsored walks to raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. Cancer has touched so many of our friends, family and colleagues, including John who has a diagnosis of leukemia and will be commencing chemotherapy in early October, after completing the walks. By doing this work, they hope to raise awareness of the issue, and the importance of generating funds to conduct life saving research. #PorterPower.

Cancer has touched so many of our friends, family and colleagues. As many of you know Porter John Jones underwent treatment for his leukaemia a couple of years ago, which didn’t provide him with the lasting results we hoped for. He is shortly to start a revolutionary new treatment which has just been authorised for use in the UK, in fact, he will be the first person in the country to try this treatment, which his consultant is confident will yield lasting results.

We will keep you updated on his progress, but have every confidence that ‘Bones Jones’ will absolutely smash it! If you can spare a few pennies to support the pioneering work conducted by Cancer Research we would be so grateful for your contribution. Also if you are doing a fundraising activity, would you consider doing in the name of Porter Power for Cancer Research.

Both John and Mark would like to thank the Churchill community for all of their support and well wishes.

— Mark Collier and John Jones
