Story

As many of my close friends may already know, I was made redundant in January this year.

No, I am not raising funds for my redundancy fund...however this rather scary change of fortune has led me on a journey in search of a new job. I am pleased to report that I have found a new job and I am now fortunate enough to be working for a local Bristol based Charity, Life Cycle UK.

Check out the details, the links are on this page.

Many of you know about my passion for riding my bike and all things cycling so I am so pleased to have been given this opportunity to combine my passion with work and at the same time help contribute to the success of what is a very worthwhile charity. Anyone who rides a bike, and I know hundreds of you who do will understand the wider benefits that cycling can bring. If you don’t, then maybe you could participate and tap into some of the resources that Life Cycle UK offer.

I have recently secured a place in the Ride 100 on August 4 in London. This will be the UK’s largest ever cycle sportive, with over 20,000 participants riding 100 miles on closed roads on the Olympic Road Race Course.

Many of you know also know that  I ride many Sportive’s of 100 miles and more, however I will be personally setting myself the challenge of setting the fastest time and to be the first back on the Mall!

Ok it’s not a race but if you support my chosen charity I will give it a good go!

Please note: I have a seeded place and the “faster” riders will be set off in the first wave at 6am, so in my quest to set a fast time I will not be recklessly trying to pass through the 20,000 cyclists, that would be silly..
