Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dear friends and family, PLEASE READ..As you know I have had the misfortune of living the remainder of my life (Hopefully another 40 years) with Parkinsons Disease, which is a Neurological condition that can become progressively worse over time, for me the disease is totally unpredictable, meaning I suddenly freeze, cannot turn, movements are slow, horrendous backpain, tremor, I basically have no control and at times through the day, I cannot stand, walk or even keep my balance, Parkinsons controls me, provides me with unwanted anxiety, physically and mentally, this disease becomes harder and harder to cope with. Anyway, what I am about to explain is not about me, But about the staff and volunteers, clients and carers of my Parkinson's Support Group, INS in Twickenham….Integrated Neurological Support.

INS is a great charity that has supported me through this illness and so I want to raise as much money to go towards its vital work!!

As I enter my 7th year with the condition, the last 3 years I have had amazing support from INS, they provide Group and Individual sessions, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapists, Social and Carers support to over 400 clients, all about taking back control..other than Parkinsons, INS deliver the same quality of service to clients with MS, Stroke, Ataxia, Brain Tumor, Head Injury, Huntington's Disease, Motor Neuron Disease to name but a few, We also provide Presentations and individual one to one talks on all Neurological Conditions to 1st and 3rd year Student Doctors from St Georges University of London.

So to that end, I have decided to walk/climb/slide with my Parkie sticks up one of the prominent range of hills at Bennachie near Aberdeen (Oxen Craig) which is at 1733 feet , 528 Meters….Flight to Aberdeen is booked for the 6th March 2017, plan to do this 7th or 8th March, this may be a doddle to most, but im sure to have a fair few frozen and shaky moments, and of course balance issues, my Long time good friend Mr Stephen Fisher has pleaded to do this for …. No….. With me!! Lol to which I will be forever grateful, Steve has made this happen, I just hope he can keep up lol..

This note has been distributed to close friends and family, who hopefully are able to send to all their FB friends, I hope people take the time to look at the INS website to see what a wonderful job INS does, im sure to have aches and pains for weeks after and will take time to get my meds right again, but this is so important to me that despite my illness, i am proud to do my bit for all at INS.. I know I have the determination to achieve this, and with Steve and all your help, I will…

Thank you for your time, please pass this on where you can,,,

Thank you

Jonnie
