Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know, I will be starting a Technical Theatre and Stage Management course at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. I will be moving to London for the 2 year course starting in September. I've set up this page as a gateway for people to assist me in raising funds for my living costs in the city. It will be an expensive couple of years but please understand that no amount of support is too small to be of real value to me.
RADA do not supply student accommodation, which is partially why I am having to raise funds. I have to rent my own place for the duration of the course, which is not going to be cheap for the 2 years. You may ask 'Why don't you just get a job whilst on the course?', the answer is unfortunately simple:- I will not have the time to, without it being detrimental to my health or the course. Sunday will be my only day off in which I will have to relax and get some rest.
The course that I will be on covers all aspects of technical theatre: sound control, lighting control, stage management, stage construction, prop making, costume, and lighting design. The course is perfect for me and I know that I will love every strenuous minute of it. After completing my foundation degree I aim to find work at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden - one of the best theaters in the world, in my opinion.
So, here I am asking you for money. The course begins on the 16th of September. Donating through JustGiving is simple, and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they will NOT sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the RADA Student Fundraising charity under my name, and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you to everyone that takes the time to read this brief story about my life for the next 2 years. And an even bigger thank you to anyone that donates any money. Like I mentioned before, each penny and pound that you donate will be helping me out.
Thank you once again,
Jon Harden
