Hospiscare provides free and specialised nursing to the terminally ill in Exeter, Mid and East Devon. It looks after more than 700 patients at any one time, supporting patients in their own homes and in its hospice. It relies on the generosity of the community to provide this vital service.

Story

In Feb 2021, our family received news that our father, Quentin, had terminal cancer. By June, he had left us. Whilst cancer rips families apart, Hospiscare provides end of life dignity, care and support to anyone in need, to families like ours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. No words can do justice to the man, husband and father dad was, but we can at least do our bit to show our thanks to the people who showed up for us, when we needed it most.

I don't much like running and don't intend on running another one, but a marathon seems like a good enough goal to work towards. Besides, I don't think you'd pay up to see me eat pastries and gelato.

Thank you for your support, and for your friendship and companionship to Quentin, who never failed to show that basic human kindness is the most underrated characteristic of all.

Out of our sorrow, however, comes new life - Elina, Lila, Liana and Hamish are the best legacy dad could have ever wished for.
