Story
I am very proud to Chair the board of the small local
charity TwentyTwenty.
Their project Love4Life supports local teenage girls who
live in the most deprived areas of Leicestershire and Derby, and who struggle
with their emotional health, the pressures of social media, and now with the
effects of the current economic climate. We know they are the group of
people that was the most harshly affected by the pandemic and being locked down
in often unsuitable homes. As a result many more now struggle with social
anxiety and depression, and the charity is being overwhelmed with referrals and
having to hold waiting lists. Without the extra love and support from the
wonderful Love4Life youth workers, many of them will disengage from school and
society and just not do well in life.
Girls like Jessica, aged 16 who came to us about to be
excluded from school who said "from this day on, when I look back on the
past, I will smile and say to myself, I never thought I could do it…. But I
did… I did do it. And it was Love4Life that helped me to do it".
Please support me to help them keep on their brilliant
work .
