Your donation would enable me to join an expedition with Raleigh International to Southern India. As a group, we will work to improve the lives of a poor community or to conserve the environment by completing such tasks as building a house or erecting fences in an attempt to stop elephants destroying homes.

Raleigh International is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation - all of the money generated through sponsorship will go towards encouraging the venturers (volunteers aged 17-24) to make a difference to an Indian community.

The Raleigh expeditions are truly life changing. With your sponsorship, I'll have the opportunity to participate in a worthwhile project in India sourced in partnership with the local NGO. Community projects focus around health and sanitation (constructing eco-sanitation units, gravity water feed systems, tribal housing) and education (building a school or a nursery). Environmental projects, on the other hand, centre on wildlife conservation (turtles, tigers or Asian elephants). I will also have the opportunity to engage in a physically and mentally challenging adventure phase incorporating trekking through a rainforest.  The Raleigh expedition is by no means a holiday – I will be challenged by manual and physically demanding work, basic living conditions (camping) and food.

Not only will I be completing a highly rewarding sustainable project, but I will also have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, independence, endurance, confidence, determination, perseverance and cultural awareness.

In order to participate in this enriching expedition, I require your help as much as possible. I will therefore be completing a variety of fundraising tasks, including a 10k run, an Indian night, a coffee morning and a large, family orientated, fundraising evening.
