Outlaw Triathlon 2021 · 25 July 2021 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

During the course of 2021 I will be taking part in several challenges to raise funds for Alzheimer's Society - with the main event been the Outlaw Long Distance Triathlon on 25th July 2021. That's a 3.8k Swim, 180k Bike followed by a 42.2k run (a marathon) , yes that's all in one go within 17 hours !!!

This will be my 3rd Outlaw and my aim is to improve on my previous PB of 12:15. This year is very special to me as I will be competing in memory of my wonderful Mother in Law who passed away in January 2021.

This year I will be taking part with some good friends who will be taking part in their 1st “Iron” distance triathlon so hopefully we can all come home safe and within time !!

I will be warming up for the Outlaw by taking part in some "smaller" events including - Harewood 1/2 Marathon Off road Run; Leeds 1/2 Marathon; Wetherby and Cleveland Olympic Distance Triathlons; A 112 mile Bike ride in the Yorkshire Dales - plus hopefully a few other events, subject to my finances and wife will allowing !!!.

Then just to finish off what I hope to be a magnificent year I ll be running the Yorkshire Marathon on 17th October !!

In doing these events I hope to be able to raise in the region of £1,000 for my chosen charity.

“Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.

Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice”

I will be of course be funding all entry fees, travel, equipment costs, etc myself so 100% of all your money donated will go straight to the charity.

Finally, thank you for your support it is much appreciate and will certainly help me get through the events not to mention the 100s of hours of training !!!
