ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon 2018 · 8 April 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some people may or may not know, myself, my brother and my dad are running the Manchester marathon in April in memory of my brother who passed away almost 10 years ago now. It is also a coincidence that the date of the marathon is also his birthday.
Sudep (for those that don’t know) stands for sudden unexpected death in epilepsy, which is what my older brother passed away from at the age of 25. Some people don’t see epilepsy as a life threatening disease. This is also another reason why I am running the marathon to help raise awareness of this disease along with running in memory for my brother (which I know he will be taking great joy in seeing me struggle through the 26 miles haha).
More information about SUDEP can be found in the links to the charity. Again for those who may remember I have previously done some fundraising for this charity at secondary school (non-school uniform day and selling SUDEP wristbands). This is of course a charity very close to home.
Again for those who don’t know. This will be me and my brothers first (and most likely) last ever marathon, however, my dad runs them for fun and this will be a walk in the park for him. Myself and my brother aren’t looking to break any records just simply finish the marathon. I have been training since November and am frequently running 10+ mile runs. It’s not going to be easy but it will be worth it. 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Any donations will be greatly appreciated. 🙂
