Microtia is a little known congenital deformity affecting 1 in 6000 babies whereby misshape of the external part of the ear can vary in severity and the ear being smaller than expected, to degrees of absence of the outer ear.

Microtia UK was established as a charity in 2013 offering support to those affected by Microtia. A particularly important role they do is helping to support new parents of children with Microtia and campaign for equal access to hearing aids for all children with Microtia. 

I hadn't heard of Microtia until a friend mentioned it to me and pointed me in the direction of Microtia UK website. When I read more and saw the great work the charity are doing, I wanted to combine my love of a challenge with raising money for a great cause and underknown charity.

Mircotia UK rely on donations to help maintain their brilliant work and cannot survive without your generosity.
