By December 9th I will have been growing my hair for three years. This is both the longest time I’ve ever let it grow and also the longest it has ever been (54cm!). It's been quite the change from the short, back, and sides that I’ve sported for almost twenty years. But everything is relative and changing my hairstyle is nothing compared to the changes brought about in the lives of the 4200+ children who have been diagnosed with cancer in the same period. Cancer is a disease that touches us all in some way, and I’ve seen firsthand how having a young child close to you be diagnosed with cancer affects not only that child but also everyone else around them as well. Anything we can do to fund and end this horrible disease and the pain it causes children and their families we must.

So, in December 2022, I will be cutting off my hair and donating it to The Little Princess Trust. The Little Princess Trust provides free, real human hair wigs to children when they lose their hair to cancer or another condition which helps restore their confidence and identity. To allow the wig to be free to those children, each wig costs the charity £550 so I want to raise at least this amount to make and provide three wigs, which is one for each year I've grown my hair!

The funds raised in addition to providing these wigs also go into vital research to end childhood cancer forever.  The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers, as the trust receives no formal funding.
