Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Monday 27th March 2017 Hannah and I went to A&E in Barnet as I had been unwell for 2 weeks and was getting worse as I had lost my speech and was struggling to walk. By 3pm I had been diagnosed with a brain infection caused by a severe sinus infection which had travelled to my brain.
That night I was transferred to Queens Square hospital in Russell Square. By this time I was using a wheel chair and could no longer talk. I had lost the use of my right side, I couldn’t even feed myself. Although I had a sinus flush and was on antibiotics, the injection on my brain was still there and on April 7th I had brain surgery to remove the infection, which ultimately saved my life.
All of this was while Hannah was 4 months pregnant and without the National Brain Appeal and the work of everyone at the Queens Square hospital I would not be here. My condition was incredibly serious and am lucky that Hannah and I walked into A&E on that Monday.
Although now fully recovered, I will always be grateful for Queens Square saving my life and that’s because they knew how to treat me thanks to the research of the National Brain Appeal.
