Absailing down Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower · 2 April 2017
No one expects their child to die before they do, yet this happens to thousands of people every year, three and a half years ago, this happened to me.
I am abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth in memory of my son Edward, he was just 23 when fatally injured in a road traffic collision.
The Compassionate Friends are a charity that provides continuing support, understanding and hope for bereaved parents, and also to siblings and grandparents, who have lost a child at any age of any cause. They have been a vital lifeline to me during this heart-breaking journey. Meeting people going through similar experiences, forming friendships, sharing stories and fond memories of our beloved children.
I now run a support group in the South as there was not one close to me at the time. Every parent, grandparent and sibling should have support available to them, in raising money I hope to also raise awareness of the charity to enable families to get support when they are truly in need.
The money I raise will go straight to The Compassionate Friends, aiding them to keep running a wide range of services and offering professional support to much needed families.
Any dotation's will be greatly appreciated,
