Julia's 20km this summer
Fundraising for Child's i Foundation
I've got soft since I had my 2 children - I used to swim in the lido when it was only 9 oir 10 degrees C but I've not really been swimming lately. I'm going to get back there this Summer (when the water isn't quite so chilly) and maybe carry on into the winter if I haven't reached my 20km target!
Child's i Foundation run an emergency care centre in Uganda and babies are admitted to us by the police. They are dumped in pit latrines, on the roadsides and in rubbish bins in Kampala. Our last two little baby girls were abandoned on a rubbish dump and a septic tank and weighted a pitiful 2kg's.
Our aim is to get them into loving families so their tragic beginning is never remembered.
£100 pays for our social work team to trace family members. If we can't find anyone then we have a waiting list of approved families who will provide them with love, a sense of belonging and be part of their family.
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
