Story
Please support this charity as Rebecca, Ollie, Kristie two friends Sarah Simmons, Abby Page and I will be abseiling down the 100M Spinnaker tower in Portsmouth on 3rd June 2017. Four more of our friends will be joining us: Dave Gasson, Jon Mower, Ben Parr and Martyn Howell and Sasha, Rebecca's youngest sister, Has completed a skydive last September 2016 too.
The reason we are doing this is, in 2003, Rebecca was rushed to Great Ormond Street hospital in London with Pneumonia and Septicaemia. She nearly died - we were even asked to say goodbye to her after only a week in hospital - Thankfully she survived after a 3 month stay and multiple operations.
The Sick Children's trust gave us a room in one of their homes from home so we could be a stones throw away from Rebecca and be in touch with the ward at anytime and help aid her recovery. Things could have been so different without this support. We can't thank them enough but we can fundraise to help other families.
We've raised a lot of money in the past by doing a smaller abseil off Peacehaven cliff in 2006. That one was only 80ft! I did a skydive in 2004 as well.
Now is the time to fundraise again to celebrate Rebecca becoming a mum to a gorgeous boy called Oscar in September 2015.
Thank you for reading our story and if you feel you can help. We very much appreciate it as will all the families at the Sick Children's trust.
