Story
For the past 25 years I have had epilepsy, to which I have encountered many seizures that have lasted up to 2 hours at a time. Luckily, thanks to a combination of anti-epileptic medication, I have been seizure-free for almost 2 years allowing me to drive my own car. Unfortunately, some people can have several seizures on a daily basis, which can in some cases, cause long term neurogical problems when there is a lack of oxygen to the brain.
The reason behind why I want to take part in the Great Manchester Run 2010, is not only to to raise money for new research that can can transform the lives of those affected by epilepsy, but to give me personally, a great sense of achievement by running for a condition which has been a sensitive issue throughout my life.
Thank you for supporting me!
