Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

On Saturday 15 October I'll be taking part in the Autumn 100, a 1-00-mile footrace along the Thames Path and Ridgeway national trails. Having reached mile 95 of the Thames Path 100 in May last year before pulling out with injury, I have unfinished business with this distance. My goal is to finish in under 24 hours but after last time, I'll just be happy to complete the race this time.

I'm raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association as my late grandmother suffered from it, and she was a kind, wonderful woman who was very good at baking cakes, and even won competitions at it. I'm unlikely to win anything at the Autumn 100 but hopefully completing such a tough challenge would have made her proud.
