Kyiv to Selby Challenge · 1 August 2022

More than 10 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water. Donate now.

Story

Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing millions to flee.  Homes have been destroyed.  Essential services have been hit.  Families have been separated.  People have been injured.  Lives have been lost.  DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries.  They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.

  • £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
  • £50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm
  • £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month

The Abbey Belles would like to help by challenging ourselves (along with some friends and family) to run, walk, swim or cycle 1,685 miles (the distance from Kyiv to Selby) between 1st August and 17th September.

We hope you can help us to meet our target of £500 to this worthy cause.

We are also hosting a Concert for Ukraine on the 17th September - all proceeds from which will also go to DEC for the above cause.  If you would like to buy tickets for this event or would like to know more, please see our website www.abbeybelles.com.
