Story

05/12/2015

Can I say I am feeling rather sick
this morning, little or no sleep(pretty normal for me!)

but having waking nightmares it's

all going to go terribly wrong. The wind and rain is relentless, we have so many squirrels, not normally a problem, but every time I look in the garden they
are there........what if they have eaten through the wires, how will we find it ??? Roll on the switch on, and we can relax a wee bit.....maybe :)

HOPEFULLY we will be on tomorrow night (sat) There still could be some tweaking to do, we are breath holding and treading water....literally!

Thanks to Heatbeat NWCC for popping down to take a pic for us....sneak preview.

START gathering the loose change(back of the sofa) PPI
refunds welcome. Don't forget to donated by text, JustGiving or just throw
money at us!!!

All will be welcome  xx

A quick update...The house is almost ready, poor Alan has been blown,
battered and soaked. He just has the garden and carport to do, might I say it's looking good! I am feeling more than a little emotional being the last year, Alan did mention if we got a sponsor for the electric he would consider another couple of years, but sadly that ain't gonna happen, SO, ALL (but a select few)WILL BE UP FOR SALE. There are 100's which will
obviously range in price, some are brand new this year. We are open to offers for the WHOLE LOT, but will only be available to remove after Jan 1st.
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN ANY ITEMS PLEASE POP DOWN ONCE WE ARE OFFICIALLY LIT UP
AND HAVE A BROWSE.
We would have to take a holding deposit to secure the sale, and all items are sold as seen, as the nature of the beast they will be sold with no guarantees. Please feel free to inbox us.

AS THIS IS THE LAST EVENT,LETS MAKE IT A CRACKER!!!
OVER TO YOU PEEPS  XX

Well folks, it's start of November 2015, and
it's begun, the annual 'erection' of the
PARKSIDE  ILLUMINATIONS

UNFORTUNATELY
THIS YEAR WILL BE OUR LAST....

Due to the spiralling cost of electricity, which has always been
our contribution, with the aid of our solar panels. For the 4 or 5 weeks last year, compared to the previous year, there was more than £150 increase in the bill. Unfortunately we are unable to continue to fund this. We are extremely sad and upset as the annual event has been a part of our lives ( and the neighbours) for so long. I hope everyone will continue to support other displays in the area, and we Thank you for all your support and smiling faces over the 18 years.

WE WILL BE ADVISING SHORTLY OF OUR PLANS TO SELL ALL BUT A SELECT FEW OF OUR MANY DECORATIONS, SOME ARE ONLY NEW  THIS YEAR....OFFERS FOR THE COMPLETE HOUSE DISPLAY
WILL BE GIVEN SERIOUS CONSIDERATION......

Alan, bless him, is just at the start of creating this
year’s display, which has included scaling the dizzy heights off the roof apex to secure Rudolf, and an amazing, or should I spectacular, Blackpool illuminations type signage, which was generously donated a couple of years when we were approached by CH5, to appear in a documentary on Crazy Xmas lights, luckily(!) we were unable to be up and running in time for filming....phew!

We have been lucky enough to purchase many new lights at the end of last season, thanks partly to the generosity of CPC in Preston for selling us end of lines and ex-display items at a reduced rate as it was for charity .

We will be posting photos when the display is complete and ready to rock n roll, but in the meantime we won't complain if you want to donate before you experience the PARKSIDE extravaganza yourself,
no offers of money will be refused ;)

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

THIS YEAR
WE ARE RAISING FUNDS FOR
HEARTBEAT who have helped our neighbour Julie back to full health HEARTBEAT Makes us appreciate the great work they do!

HEARTBEAT  Are the North West’s leading cardiac rehabilitation
charity, providing services for over 700 people every week. Based in
Preston the charity has supported heart patients and those at risk for
over 35 years.

Their Charity Number is 511786

HEARTBEAT   is committed to the fight to reduce the impact of cardiovascular disease in all our communities within the North West through rehabilitation,
information and advice, education and lifestyle support.

HEARTBEAT  was founded in 1978 by Keith and Rose Redman who sadly lost their teenage daughter, Gillian, to heart disease. Keith and Rose recognised the need to develop support and enhanced
rehabilitation for people affected by heart disease post hospital discharge. This pioneering approach to cardiac rehabilitation has provided support to thousands of people over Heartbeat’s 35 year history.

.....Well
it all started about 18 years ago, when the kid in us threw a few
fairy lights over a hedge(not mentioning any competition with neighbours!)
Over the years it has escalated to be a bit of a spectacle (would like to
say Spectacular, but wouldn't wish to blow our own trumpet!) Sadly the
neighbours left & took their lights with them, but we carried on the
tradition, & over the years saw a rise in the number of houses on our
little estate adding a few twinkles here & there & looked really
pretty in all that snow!

Although we live in a cul de sac so we have no passing traffic as such, but people often pop down to see what else we have managed to 'squeeze' in, although the addition of solar panels (nothing to do with paying for all the electric the lights consume!) will challenge Alan's creativity with regard to roof space.....Santa will need all his skills to land on our roof.....some minor head scratching I feel maybe involved!

People have often mentioned that we should have a collection box outside, but this always worried me so when someone mentioned 'Just Giving' I thought 'now there's an idea' so here we are.....

If every one of my 120 Facebook friends gave £1.00 it's a start....subtle hint to co-workers @ Ramsay Hospital.....   not forgetting gift aid, it all helps.

Times are extremely hard for everyone at the moment so we understand, especially at this time of year, but our chosen charity will be grateful for any pennies you can spare....

We all know someone who has their lives affected by heart disease, there won't be many of us that has not experienced the feeling of loss on many levels. I personally lost both  my parents to the cruel effects of Cardiovascular disease, I also suffer and my brother was lucky enough to survive a heart attack at just 52. SO

PLEASE DIG DEEP, WE MAY BE THE ONES NEEDING
HELP & SUPPORT......enough said xxx

Thank you for taking the time to read this little tale & if we can help HEARTBEAT  on their quest to rehabilitate, inform and advise, educate and provide lifestyle support, our job is done.

Grateful Thanks & Seasons Best,

Kathryn & Alan.        XXX
