RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution

We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running for the RNLI, which is an important charity to me because of my brothers involvement.  As a crew member at Tynemouth station he is regularly called out into appauling conditions to rescue others and to prevent more dangerous situations from arising.  This entire effort is ran by volunteers and contributions from the public - your donation ensures that the men and women who protect us at sea are equipped for the job with proper boots, flotation, helmets and survival gear - as well as keeping the fleet itself in action.

Many of the lives they save are on the back of search and rescue operations - last year just under 8,000 individuals were rescued by the RNLI - 22 a day!

So all of a sudden running 13 miles shouldn't seem like such a big deal.  But it is too me (I hate running!) and I would love to say I helped support the RNLI in whatever small way this year.  I haven't set a huge target, as I know that everyone is in the midst of recession and gets asked by lots of their family and friends, but anything you give will be gratefully received.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
