Big Curry Run · 22 April 2013

We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

Armchair runner: that's what my best friend says I am! Two marathons and one half marathon implies I run on a regular basis. Not so!

Our school, St George's Harpenden is a proud supporter of the Soldiers Charity. We are running (or in my case 'participating' 10m  for every British soldier killed or wounded in Afghanistan since 2001.

Last year's efforts raised the single largest donation from a school. We are aiming for 100,000 pounds: double I think from last year.

I have been assigned Marine Jonathan Wigley as my deceased soldier.

as per normal KNL I have left training a bit late... 4 weeks beforehand... But my sacrifice is nowhere near what Jonathan gave us and my pain at mile 13 will be nowhere near the loss his family has felt for the past 6 years.
