Story
So far I've been raising funds for cancer research. I've been putting myself through various challenges and asking for your support. With your donations we raised more than 40000$ for cancer research.
This time it is a little bit different but still very close to my heart. I am raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan provides support for patients and their carers right from the moment they’re diagnosed, through their treatment and beyond, giving the energy and inspiration to help them take back control of their life, and feel more like themselves again.
My mothers fight with cancer lasted 4 years. In those years I was living abroad and I was facing the question 'should I quit and go back to be with her?" on daily basis. Most of the support she needed was given by my father and brother but I do know how hard this period was for her and for people taking care of her. Once diagnosed it is very important to have access to correct information about the disease, to be able to talk with someone who understands what you are going through or even simply have a shoulder to cry on. This is exactly what Macmillan Cancer Support is providing.
I ran the Chicago marathon on October 9th, I will do I half Ironman (that is 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride and 21.1km run) on October 23rd and finish with "The Marathon" from city of Marathon to Athens on 13th of November.
Please support me so that we can make a change in cancer patients' life.
I run with dedication to honor the brave people I know and love who are battling cancer.
I run with hope to make a difference in the lives of so many people affected by this deadly disease.
I run in loving and caring memory of Cemile Beriker.
