I lost my mum to breast cancer 21 years ago this July. We sat together during her chemo sessions, we bought her first wig together, we laughed and we cried and I was with her when she took her last breath. She helped me through some pretty rough times. We didn't always get along but when she left this earth for a better place I not only lost my mum but I lost my best friend and confidante and I miss her every single hour of every single day.
I wear my hair 'crazy' short and occasionally 'crazy' colours to support every person going through their cancer journey - whatever cancer they may have.
Although I am raising money for Crazy Hats, we have lost a dear family friend to cancer a year ago, so Graham, this is for your canoeing in the sky. My daughter lost a school friend two years ago to cancer - Jay, this is for you; thank you for all that you did for my Jodie.
For my surviving friends at 'home' and abroad - you rock and you know who you are. This walk is for all of you - it's not a pleasant journey that they have gone through or are going through but I am with them all the way in spirit.
