Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
In September last year the lives of my family changed forever. Andrew was a fit, healthy, young man who had a zest for life and enjoyed nothing more than making memories with his wonderful family Sarah, Harriet and Elliott.
Sarah woke in the night and realising Andrew hadn't made it to bed she went looking for him the last thing she expected was to find he had died of a massive heart attack and to be left a widow at 32 years old.
Andrew had no signs of heart disease, no family history, he had no warning yet he was taken in a split second.
Heart disease affects more people than we realise. We all know someone who has suffered a heart attack or who have heart disease. Heart disease does not care how fit you are, just look at the many running/cycling events where we hear of people collapsing and often dying from a heart attack, despite the hours of training they are not exempt - heart disease knows no bounds.
We sadly also lost our much loved Uncle Bob earlier this year too just days before his 90th birthday. While he lived a long a happy life it doesn't stop the pain for those left behind.
The good news is that the BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £25 could pay for an hour of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
