Story
Due to COVID-19, the charity have unfortunately had to postpone three major fundraising events to 2021. Working Options in Education have a £200,000 funding gap. The fall out of the pandemic will disproportionately affect the employment prospects of young people, particularly those from deprived communities, where the opportunity gap will widen further. The charity's programme to give young people the employability and life skills they need to fulfil their potential is even more vital.
I volunteer with Working Options in schools and colleges, and online, but they need our support in order to keep doing this good work, I've seen first hand how it can help build confidence and empower young people to appreciate that they are not defined by their background and that they have it in them to achieve whatever they want.
We start on Monday 14th September and I DON'T cycle much! The bike is dusty and old, I hate saddle ache, I have dodgy hips and back, in fact I might use my youngest's bike! So this is huge for me, I'll be completing this challenge with my eldest son Toby who is also fundraising for his World Challenge expedition 2021, he has also had a massive shortfall in fundraising due to Covid, so we're locking arms to do this together!
