Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In December 2015 I was diagnosed with a carcinoid tumour in my left lung. Carcinoids are rare tumours which tend to be slow growing, related to the neuroendocrine system. They often present few symptoms, are difficult to spot and have unknown causes. The care I received from Leeds Cancer Centre at Jimmy's in Leeds was, and continues to be, incredible. After having my left lung removed in February 2016, I was encouraged to walk 'as much as possible'. This resulted in me deciding to undertake the walk 1000 challenge - to walk 1000 miles in a year, which I completed in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Any money raised whilst I am doing this challenge will help to provide specialist medical equipment, research and development and patient ‘home comforts’ to 2,000 patients each day at St James's Institute of Oncology. Thank you for helping in anyway you can!
