This was my story last year and its still the same, so thanks to all of you who donated last year, I raised £501 on the London to Brighton challenge.
Watching my mum struggle everyday with Parkinsons disease never moaning, makes me want to do something. Mum was a nurse for 30+ years, so always understood what having Parkinson's would mean once diagnosed.
She continued with doing the things she enjoyed, living in Thailand with a busy social life until she moved back to the UK due to her illness. Mum fell this year (2013) and broke her arm so this year has caused her to have less independance, but she is still doing as much as she can
Also my husband, Jimmy's Aunt, Edna Grant, suffered badly from Parkinsons and died in 2010 after years of struggling. Edna was a teacher and enjoyed pottery, when she retired, Edna never allowed her diease to stop her doing the things she enjoyed, she remained independant and continued with her pottery and social life in Birmingham.
There is a photo on the site so you know I did do the challenge, I had a good time and a massive sense of achievment at the finish plus blisters and tears.
So if I could ask again for donations, I would be most grateful.
Thank You Love KATE X
