Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. We love all dogs, and the people who love dogs too. We care for dogs in need through our network of 22 centres across the UK and Ireland, finding them loving new homes. A dog is for Life, not just for Christmas ©

Story

Hello, thanks for visiting for my London Marathon 2017 fundraising page. I'll be running the marathon on 23rd April 2017 in the hope of raising £1500 for the Dogs Trust. As I'm sure you know, I'm a huge dog lover and have always supported the Dog's Trust. After the break down of my previous long term relationship, I was unable to take my wonderful three dogs with me, I ended up sleeping on my parent's sofa for a year whilst trying to rebuild my life and they simply didn't have the room to take my dogs. It was a comfort to know that charities like the Dogs Trust exist and if they'd had to have been re-homed, the Dog's Trust wouldn't have put them to sleep. I've seen how many similar situations can happen, where people are unable to keep their dogs and need to re-home them urgently, but are in deep distress as to where they can assure they'll be safe. Rather than putting them on Gumtree, not knowing where they'll end up or what they will be used for, they can be assured that they will be looked after in a Dogs Trust shelter.

All of the money raised will go directly to the Dogs Trust to help rescue 1000's of stray and abandoned dogs as well as supporting preventative measures against puppy farming.

And on the '' I'm rubbish and running so please support me and keep me going'' story: I'm working pretty hard at the moment running a lot of miles and doing a lot of gym sessions to get myself fit enough to face this huge challenge. Fitting all this in whilst working full time and commuting has been really tough. As many of you know, I'm not a natural runner and have to work really hard at it, plus I have really bad feet (thanks dad!).

I started off being able to run for just a minute, and my ultimate goal was to be able to run for ten minutes non stop. As you can imagine, I'm feeling pretty daunted at the thought of running over 26 miles in just a few hours. If I were to go that distance from my home in Shirley, it would take me all the way to Stourbridge! If I've inspired you, then please donate and help inspire me to keep me going.
