To celebrate my 50th birthday, I organised a 50 mile walk around Manchester to raise money for CLIC Sargent (no relation – but a great charity raising money to provide care and support for children with cancer).  I divided the 50 miles up into 9 manageable chunks and over the summer completed them all with various groups of friends.  Thanks to everyone who supported me, either by joining me on a walk or by donating to CLIC Sargent.

Romiley to Guide Bridge - the final section!  Completed with Paul on one of the few sunny days this month.  Surprisingly scenic route and some very interesting industrial archaeology.

Deansgate to Guide Bridge completed with Stella and Sandra. A gorgeous sunny autumn a walk - the day rounded off beautifully with lunch at Dukes then the Manchester derby (4-1).

Wilmslow to Prestbury completed with Elaine.  A warm walk along the Bollin Valley (unfortunatately they had put up a diversion part way along and we didn't notice the signs - navigational skills needed to find our way through fields etc).  Also had to rescue a sheep that was stuck on his back in a dip. Deansgate to Sale completed with: Sandra, Diana, Stella and Jean.  First time on the tram for Sandra and Jean - hope you are impressed and also enjoyed the walk along the Bridgewater Canal. Rounded off with a well earnt drink in a waterside pub in Sale.  Thanks again for your support and enthusiasm.

Sale to Dunham Massey completed with: Anne, Dave & Paul. Enjoyable canal walk, finished off with a lovely lunch at the Swan with Two Nicks. Thanks for joining me!

Little Bollington to Ashley completed with: Diana, Stella, Ruth, Sandra & Xanthoula. We had a beautiful evening walk on the hottest day of the year. Thanks for coming & glad you all enjoyed it!
