'A Way Out' Charity Head Shave (in association with The Daniel John Williams School of Acting) · 5 January 2017

A Way Out is an outreach and prevention charity which aims to engage, empower and equip vulnerable and excluded women, families and young people to live lives free from harm, abuse and exploitation and to reduce life limiting choices and behaviour.

Story

Hello and thanks for taking the time to visiting my JustGiving page!

I first heard about 'A Way Out' when I took part in a Christmas donation drive organised by Lynne Welham and The Daniel John Williams School of Acting.

I was amazed at the help and support they provided to people in desperate need but at the same time I quickly realised that there was so much more that needs to be done.

Hair has always been a big thing for me and the amount of money I've spent on cuts, colours and products is frightening, especially seeing as I was never happy with how it looked anyway.

After looking into all the work that 'A Way Out' does, I understood that all the young people struggling with addictions, all the families facing homelessness and all the women forced into sex work just to survive didn't have the means to worry about the little things that I did. They were too busy fighting to survive on a daily basis.

Some people are only able to have a bath when they visit the charity and go without basic needs every day to provide for their family.

So at the end of this month (dates to be confirmed) I will be shaving my head to raise money for this wonderful charity and to show my solidarity with those in need.

Please donate something to this important cause, however small, and make a difference to those facing difficult challenges in their daily lives.

Thanks!

Katie Ann Hunter
