I have challenged myself to complete the Great North Run Solo Event to support Eden Valley Hospice, a charity close to my heart after working there for the last six years. This involves completing 40 runs, one for every year of the Great North Run, over an 11 week period. I am hoping to clock up 100 miles in total to earn the bronze medal. The last time I laced up my running shoes was nearly ten years ago so this is going to be a big challenge for me but every day at work I am inspired by my patients, their families and my wonderful colleagues so hopefully this will get me through it.

Eden Valley Hospice relies on charitable donations to continue providing amazing care to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Covid-19 has led to the cancellation of many major fundraising events upon which the hospice relies so any donations, no matter how small, would be very gratefully received. Thank you.
