Story
I am taking part in the Great South Run for the first time. This 10 mile run will be a real challenge for me as I have never run this distance before.
I àm running in memory of a dear friend, Judith Slinn who died from a brain tumour just over 2 years ago aged just 54.
This devasting cancer so desparately needs more funding for research. Brain tumour research represents just 1.37% of national spend on cancer
Less than 20% of brain tumour patients survive beyond five years of their diagnosis, whereas 86% of breast cancer and 51% of leukaemia patients survive beyond five years
