Story
Each year Farnell UK teams up with Epilepsy Research UK (ERUK) to sponsor a charity golf day. Over the last 17 years we’ve raised almost £175,000 through the continued support of our sponsors and players! As you may know, following the COVID-19 outbreak we made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Charity Golf Day, which was planned for July, due to restrictions on gatherings. However, we know the important work that Epilepsy Research UK undertakes doesn’t stop, and neither does its need for funding. In fact, those living with epilepsy may be having a tougher time than ever, with increased worry raising the risk of seizures, and some experiencing greater difficulty accessing essential medication. We want to support Epilepsy Research UK in the same way we do each year, but this means that we are having to think about things a bit differently. We are going to hold a Team Farnell Virtual Cycle Event from our Leeds headquarters to our office in Chicago. All UK Farnell employees and their families can take part in the event to cycle the collective 4,000 miles. Participants can choose to ride their designated miles at any time between 12th and 18th October, either outside in the fresh Yorkshire air, at home, or in the gym on a static bike. Let’s support the charity like we’ve been doing for the past 17 years!
