Me and Victoria are going to fundraise for home start Lincolnshire because they do so much to help our families. They support our families in different ways and all other families in the county too. 

My aim is to smash my £60 target for the most money I've raised for a charity by walking or even jogging 2 miles a day for 31 days starting on 1st January 2017.  

Victoria's aim is to walk a mile a day for 31 dats throughout January  to get fit while raising money for Home Start Lincolnshire. 

Home-Start Lincolnshire

Home-Start Lincolnshire helps local families with young children (of 11 and under) who are struggling, whatever the reason. We support parents in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or those who are simply finding parenting a struggle; we recognise how hard it can be sometimes.

We provide a non-judgemental practical and emotional support and help build families’ confidence and ability to cope. This help comes in the shape of weekly volunteer-based assistance in the family’s own home; tailor-made support to help the parents work through their difficulties, whatever these may be. Through this service, which is free for families to receive, we aim to empower parents to give their children the best possible start in life.

In Lincolnshire, we support over 1,000 families each year through our home visiting service, with additional support given through family groups. 

A series of events are also organised each year, to provide opportunities families may not otherwise have to share time and experiences and give them a break from their normal routines.

Home-Start Lincolnshire’s support given so far this year:

· 635 families supported
· 1379 children reached
· 337 new referrals
· 179 active volunteers
· Total 4,052 hours support from volunteers
