Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The pain in your heart and the sickness in the pit of your
stomach when you’re told by a Doctor that your child has cancer is unimaginable. As a parent you are the provider of love and protection to your child and every day you lovingly deliver your duties unconditionally. The despair every second of every day that you are powerless to make your child better is crippling. It consumes you.
Our daughter, Kayla was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma in July this year and she has entered the journey to recovery with positivity and humour, We believe that Kayla is one strong cookie and that everything in life happens for a reason. The highs and incredible lows have been challenging and watching helplessly as your little girl is sick, exhausted, unable to eat, bed ridden with pain and hooked up to machines, not to mention the sheer isolation is only a small insight in to what goes on behind closed doors.
Kayla is nearing the end of a grueling twelve sessions of chemotherapy, led by a fantastic team at The Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow. The team have been consistently supportive and professional. We feel incredibly honoured that our daughter has been cared for here and indebted to all the amazing staff that have made this horrific journey more bearable.
Myself, my husband John, our youngest daughter Leah and Kayla
want to take part in The Santa Dash in Glasgow on Sunday 10th December and hopefully raise some valuable funds for the most incredible hospital that is delivering life changing treatment to cancer patients.
