Friends of our's have this amazing little boy called Harry. Because Harry was born with Down Syndrom he has some additional needs. He attends Green Lane Nursery which provides pre-school Nursery services entirely for children with additional needs (not just Down Syndrome) and is wholly funded by charitable donations receiving no public money whatsoever. The charitable body which runs the nursery is called Solihull Children's Special Needs Association. 

The carers are all voluntary and the nursery is kitted out with specialist equipment such as a sensory room. Parents bring children from across the West Midlands to attend the nursery as it is unique in the service it provides to children like Harry. The nursery has been running for 45 years and is now under threat of closure due to a funding shortfall. A new management team have just taken over the running of the charity and are committed to keeping the nursery open however this will require fundraising during 2013!
