Story
Two years ago my brave Mum lost her battle with breast cancer. Watching her suffer and not being able to do much to help was heart breaking. By running as part of the Breast Cancer Now team I can do something small to help. The money raised will help further research so that no one else looses their Mum, or Dad, as let’s fave men can get Breast Cancer too.
Here’s the thing..... Mum would think the idea of me running a half marathon is hilarious. I hated P.E and would do anything to get out of it. I didn’t push my body to its potential.
Back in 2014/15 though I was experiencing mobility issues due to illness. I couldn’t walk without a crutch, lost my job and basically hit bottom. With intense physio I got my health and mobility back. I’ve learnt to value what my body can do, push its capabilities and have never been fitter. Last year I pushed myself to run 10k so this year I’m pushing myself to run a half marathon. I hope to make my Mum proud and help keep the research into finding a cure for this cruel disease going.
