Story
In March 2022, I will be donating 12 inches of my hair to the Little Princess Trust, which will be used to make free of charge wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer. In doing so, I am hoping to raise vital funds for a cause close to my heart, Liberty's Legacy, in loving memory of my second cousin Liberty Grace Schurer.
Liberty was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer, on her 13th birthday in September 2016. Throughout her treatment, Liberty experienced what no child should ever have to. She fought courageously and I admire her bravery, selflessness and kindness immensely. Liberty was days away from the end of her treatment in August 2017, when she discovered a new lump in her thigh. Liberty was given the devastating news that her cancer had returned, and had spread. Liberty continued to fight, but sadly gained her angel wings in October 2017, at just 14 years old. It was Liberty’s wish to raise vital funding for research into Ewing’s Sarcoma to help others, and Liberty’s Legacy was born.
Liberty's Legacy is a special fund of the Bone Cancer Research Trust that is dedicated to raise vital life-saving funds and research into Ewing's Sarcoma.
Any donations supporting Liberty’s Legacy, and Liberty’s wonderful desire to help others, will be greatly appreciated.
