Keith and Laura enjoy keeping fit and feel it is important to set challenges for both the mental and physical benefits. In Jan 2018 our gran received a dreadful cancer diagnosis and after several weeks in several hospitals she was sent home. Due to our Gran's complex health needs she received a place in St Margaret of Scotland's Hospice.

Our gran was always a very independent lady and seeing the toll that this horrendous disease was having on her was not easy. My gran bore her illness with great bravery and optimism.

All of the staff at the hospice were amazing and worked so hard to allow my gran to be comfortable and retain her dignity. It was great to be able to reminisce about old times and see her laugh again. If there are angels that walk this earth then they are definitely working at the hospice.

Gran passed away at the end of May , so we have decided to take on the 'Ironman 70.3 Edinburgh'  to riase money for this much needed charity which is only part funded by the NHS and Government and they have to raise approximately 30,000 pounds a week. Keith is not a swimmer and Laura is not a cyclist, but we are planning to swim 1.2 miles, cycle 56 miles and run a half marathon and will attempt to battle on with the same courageous spirit as our gran.
