In 2011, my good friend Aoife and her husband John sadly lost their joyfully anticipated baby Seamus. 

Seamus would have been 5 years old this year and to mark that occasion, Aoife and John have set up the 5 for 5 Challenge in his memory. They have done amazing things this year to raise money for two very worthy charities, Tommy's and Sands.

 My boyfriend, Niko, and I have truly been inspired by their courage and the way that they are now helping others with their generosity. So we have decided to join the 5 for 5 Challenge team, and on the 25th of September, we will attempt our first half-marathon in aid of Tommy's, the baby charity. 

Tommy's funds medical research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage, and provides an information service about health in pregnancy.
