Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

So, if anyone had told me a year ago that I’d be preparing to walk 100km in just 5 days and across the desert, to raise money for our amazing Fire Service, I’d think they were mad, and yet here I am preparing to do just that.

My name is Kelly McHugh, a Lancashire lass, working for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, in the Prevention team. On a daily basis I see just how hard our Fire Personnel work. Back in early 2020 when the world recieved the shock of a pandemic, a lot of the country stood still but the fire service continued to work even harder. Supporting our amazing NHS and partners with the vaccination roll out and checking in on our vulnerable communities.

This is a fantastic charity that helps and support fire personnel, whether they are ill, injured or need psychological support.

In the coming days I will be setting off to Morocco to face this challenge (head on...)

My trek can be followed on Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the firefighters charity social media pages.

If you can, please donate to this very worthy charity, it would be greatly appreciated, no donation is too small.

Thank youuuu
