In April 2013, The Boom Foundation was set up and it remains the only charity in NI dedicated to supporting patients suffering from sarcoma, a rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer. 50% of funds raised go to Sarcoma UK towards vital research; the rest supports those affected by sarcoma in NI.

Story

Take Two!

I am running the London Landmarks Half marathon on 1 August and the Virgin Money London marathon on 3 October in memory of my 25 year old brother Mark and dad.

Mark died from a rare and aggressive form of sarcoma cancer (synovial sarcoma) in his leg less than a year after diagnosis in 2005. My 50 year old dad was then diagnosed with terminal cancer a year after Mark’s death and passed away after an even shorter battle.

I am raising money for my wonderful friend’s sarcoma cancer charity, The Boom Foundation, the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to fighting sarcoma cancer.  Sarcoma is a cancer that typically affects children and young adults. It is a cancer that can be very difficult to treat so sarcoma sufferers really need all the help they can get.

Your support really means the world to me.
