Story

Hi 👋🏻

I’m gonna do 2 half Marathons! 21st May & 11 June🤩

I’ll be 32 in Feb and to me that’s a significant Birthday ☺️ To celebrate it I wanna do something to make myself proud and raising money for a charity this important will be that!

PAPYRUS UK is a charity for the prevention of young suicide in the UK.

Charities like these save lives. Some people know my ‘little story’  from way back when but most people don’t. I won’t be telling it here as it’s not the right space for it but absolutely feel free to ask In a private message/conversation x

I’ll never be able to express how grateful I am to those who’ve supported me for the past ten years. Family and friends. You’re angels; for the phone calls, the empathy and Continued lack of judgement. You were there for me then and you’re there for me now…  ❤️

(Please don’t start disappearing when I complain about my legs hurting every single day until next Summer🙏🏼)

In 2018 alone, 1,866 young people under the age of 35 took their own lives. That’s also 1,866 groups of families and friends going through complicated and life changing grief. It’s so so unbelievably sad.

Papyrus believe that suicide is largely preventable. They provide support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline.

They also deliver training programmes to individuals and groups; equipping local councils, healthcare professionals and school staff with suicide prevention skills.

I’m aiming for £1,500.. that’s 300 calls offering what could be life saving advice to a young person or concerned relative 😌

Times aren’t easy for a lot of people right now so if you’re not in a position to donate then don’t!

However..

If I can commit to something that feels truly ridiculous then you can commit to taking some time to go on their website and flick through some information. What you read and learn may give you some information that could help yourself and the people you love.

Any tips, playlists or volunteers to hold me accountable for training are welcome 👀

Thank you again,

Kelly ❤️ xx
