Teesdale Way Walk July 2011 · 21 July 2011
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To celebrate my 50th birthday I wanted to do something different: so I decided to walk the full length of the Teesdale Way from Dufton in Cumbria to Redcar,100 miles in 4 days.
There are a number of reasons why I decided to do this:
- To prove that despite my advancing years I can still undertake a demanding physical challenge.
-The River Tees provides me with the means to carry out my sport of of rowing so it seemed apt to link it to the walk.
- I want to make a real difference to the lives of people where water is a gift not just a means of recreation, the charity I am supporting will enable communities in Uganda to have safe drinking water & sanitation. In Uganda 5,000 children die each day of diseases caused by unclean water & poor sanitation. Your donation will help many families to move from sickness to health.
- A number of friends are doing the walk with me, so it should be good fun.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
