Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page

Following the closure of virgin fundraising pages we are proud to say we have raised £20k to date for our charities . However our goal is to continue to raise more over the coming 5 months in aid of Friends of Anchor.
Friends of anchor have been there to support both My sister, Donna Stewart having been  diagnosed with Stage 4 Brain cancer in September 2019, and also close friend ally Parker with neck cancer  the same year .

Our goal was to raise as much money as we could but due to covid lockdowns we have been restricted with our efforts , however finally 5 of us Ken Gardiner, Abbey George, Fraser Stewart Duncan Thomson and ally Parker  will take on board the challenge to Trek 100km in the Sahara desert on 5th November 2022
This five day trek covers 100km passing through Morocco’s forbidding landscape punctuated by peaks, gorges, dunes and oases. At night, we will be sleeping under Africa’s star strewn skies and enjoy traditional Berber hospitality. This challenge goes beyond the Jebel Saghro region, starting on the Maider El Kbir plateau, before ascending Jebel El Mrakib, and admiring the stunning views. Walking through palm gorges, the route joins the dry Rhris River and heads towards an oasis of tamarisk trees. The final days are spent trekking along the Tikertouachene River, before celebrating a successful end to the challenge in Ouarzazate.
charities are vital for research and support for other families going through the same thing so people can continue to enjoy there lives during these difficult times.
We will be holding various fund raising activities in the coming months and would love you all to support when and where you can!

Cheers
